Rockaway BEACH Civic Association has been in existence since 1962 with boundaries on the North of Jamaica Bay, on the West - Beach 108th Street, on the South- the Atlantic Ocean and on the East - Beach 79th St. As of Feb 2014 OUR EAST BOUNDARY NOW IS NOW BEACH 73 STREET
We strive to protect and promote the best interest of the residents; to promote and strive for the improvement and betterment of all public facilities and services; to promote and encourage a better community and civic spirit of Rockaway Beach. We welcome all who choose to work with us towards this common goal.

IMPORTANT MEETING ON BOARDWALK BEACH 86 St – Beach 60 St.
NYC Dept of Parks have changed the schedule of demolition of the existing Boardwalk from Beach 86th Street to Beach 60th Street. It was to have been in Spring 2015 just as the new boardwalk from Beach 86 Street to Beach 97 Street would open.
Now Phase 4A Beach 86 Street - Beach 60 Street will be demolished beginning NOVEMBER 2014. NYC Parks Dept is holding a meeting to discuss the demolition and rebuild and how it will affect our neighborhood The meeting is on:

This is short notice, but if you are concerned about this new schedule and how it will affect you and access to the beach, playgrounds, basketball and handball courts, come to this important meeting.
